Vadim Tkachuk was born in Russia in a small Siberian town called Nyagan. He began studying music at the local music school in the clarinet class at the age of 6. A year later he took up the saxophone and moved to Yekaterinburg with his family, where he continued his studies at a new music school.

From the age of 12, he started participating in competitions of different levels (local, regional, national and international). At the age of 13, he won the 1st prize of the Golden Saxophone Competition that took place in Kiev, Ukraine in 2017. From that moment on, he decided to connect his life with music. At the age of 14, he started his studies at the Ural Music College during a year full of competitions. During one of these competitions, he received an invitation during the masterclass to study at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (professor Hans de Jong), which he definitely accepted. In 2019, he moved to Antwerp and started his studies at the RCA. After obtaining his baccalaureate, he enrolled to continue his studies at the Brussels Conservatory in the class of Simon Diricq where he is currently studying.
