Tomas Trulsson, born in 1969 in Malmö (Sweden), discovered the saxophone at the age of 10. At 14, he joined the Skurups Big Band and later performed with the Big Blowin’ Band in Ystad from 1989 to 1994.
In 1992, he entered the music program at Fridhems folkhögskola before moving to Boston (USA) in 1994 to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. There, he took private lessons with world-renowned masters such as Jerry Bergonzi, Hal Crook, and George Garzone.
In 1996, Tomas performed in a musical at the National Opera of Seoul (South Korea) and also worked as a studio musician, recording for various rock bands and Korean TV dramas.
After graduating in 1998 with a Bachelor of Music from Berklee, he moved to Copenhagen. In October of the same year, he embarked on a four-month musical tour in the Caribbean aboard a cruise ship.
In 1999, he returned to Malmö, collaborating with the troupe “Dåliga Mänskor” at the Malmö Music-Theater, before being appointed in 2000 as a saxophone teacher at the cultural school of Höganäs.

Passionate about musical education, he leads workshops, specialized courses, and masterclasses on improvisation, while also offering private lessons. He has also lectured on musical improvisation for SJR.
