In 2001, Wettre received the jazz award 'Klart Svar' at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival. In the same year, Wettre received his first Norwegian Grammy for the album 'The Only Way to Travel' (bprec). In the same year, Wettre was voted one of the ten most important musicians on the European jazz scene by the British jazz magazine 'Jazz Review'.
In 2003, Wettre's record label 'Household Records' was born. His album 'Hallmark Moments' was nominated for another Norwegian Grammy. Wettre promoted and published his transcription book; "Live at the Lighthouse" - Omnibook" on PerlaMusic. (2005). This book contains all the solos of Steve Grossman and Dave Liebman from the famous recording. This transcription book was also promoted on tour at the most prestigious universities and musical institutions in the United States, including Berklee College of Music, the New School and the Manhattan School of Music.
In addition, beyond the early 2000s, he tours in Africa, performs at Jazz at Lincoln Center, New York and opens the Kongsberg Jazz Festival with the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra with self-composed music arranged by Django Bates in addition to receiving another Norwegian Grammy in 2007 for the album "Fountain of Youth". A 5-year collaboration with French multi-artist Manu Katch began in 2008. This collaboration takes Wettre around the world in addition to numerous touring activities in France.
In 2010, Wettre received his sixth Grammy nomination for the album "The Only Way to In 2012, Petter Wettre and Jason Rebello performed in Lithuania and South Korea. Wettre arranged and performed his own music for a specially selected big band for the celebration of NOPA's 75th anniversary. The concert was broadcast in 10 European countries.
In 2014, Petter Wettre launched his own app. This app contains all his music, combined with his social platforms, videos, photos, social platforms, etc.
In December, Wettre opened the Nobel Peace Prize concert with Queen Latifah. Wettre arranged Charles Mingus' music for a specially selected sextet at the Oslo Jazz Festival in August 2016. This project ended up touring throughout 2017 with 41 concerts in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and London. In December 2016, Petter took a week-long trip to China with the Canadian/Danish/Swedish project "The North". This tour continued in 2017 and included Lithuania, Germany, Sweden and Denmark. Opening the Oslo Jazz Festival 2017 with Manu Katche and friends at the opera.
In 2018, Wettre returned to South Africa with an ensemble that pays tribute to Michael Brecker. This project also tours Norway and Denmark in addition to concerts in Scotland, Iceland and the United States.
In March 2020, Wettre moved to Paris and has since established himself on the French jazz scene as well as on the international scene.
