Biography : 

 

Dorota Samsel, saxophonist and certified teacher of the saxophone; graduate of saxophone at the CNR in Metz (2004), Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin (2003) and National Higher Conservatory of Music in Warsaw (2000). From 1999 - to 2018 I worked as a saxophone teacher at the National Conservatory of Music in Poznan.

 

Musician, member of the saxophone quintet with string quartet with which I recorded a disc of contemporary Polish music, of ensemble International Flute- Saxophone Duo "and duet of two saxophones" Ars Duo "(disc" Conversations de Saxophones ") Soloist, I played several concerts with Symphonic Orchestras in Poland as well as with chamber orchestras and saxophone ensembles in France and Germany. For several years I cooperated with the Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra as well as with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Warsaw (recording of a disc of the works of Krzysztof Penderecki), as well as the National Orchestra of Gorzów Wielkopolski, Opole, Wałbrzych.

 

I regularly perform at music festivals: "The autumn of Warsaw", "The Spring of Music" in Poznan, "Regional Saxophone Encounters in Lorraine" in Metz, "Chanterelle" Festival, Festival of Sacred Music in Berlin, Musica Electronica Nova in Wroclaw, "Le Printemps Musicales" in Valenciennes, "Contrasts" Festival in Lviv (Ukraine), Verba Sacra in Poznan. With orchestra and in different chamber music ensembles I gave concerts in Poland, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Ukraine, Italy.

 

I regularly give advanced courses and internships in Poland and several times in France (CNR of Valenciennes, CNR of Douai).

My students have won numerous national and international awards and prizes, such as the Prix d'Honneur and First Prize at the Leopold Bellan International Competition, at the International Competition in Padua, Italy, 1st and 2nd Prize at the Saxophone Competition in Metz, several times Prix d 'Honor and 1st Prize at the International and National Saxophone Competitions in Przeworsk, Łódź, Bydgoszcz, Warszawa, Brno. My students continue their studies in the best conservatories in Europe: CNSMD in Paris (saxophone class by Claude Delangle), Cologne Conservatory (Daniel Gauthier class), Amsterdam (Arno Bornkamp class), Versailles Conservatory ( class of Vincent David) Conservatory of Zurich (class of Lars Mlekusch), Conservatory of Paris 13 (class of Christian Wirth).
