Daehoon Kim – Saxophonist and Educator
Daehoon Kim, born in Busan, grew up in a family of opera singers, developing a deep musical sensitivity from an early age. He began learning the saxophone with Dae-woo Kim, before studying with Yeonjeong Lee at Chung-Ang University, and then continuing his training in Belgium.
At the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, he joined Vincent David's class, earned his master's degree, and also studied with Alain Crepin and Pieter Pellens.
Artistic Training and International Recognition
He perfected his craft with international masters, participating in masterclasses with:
Arno Bornkamp, ​​Timothy McAllister, Nobuya Sugawa, Philippe Geiss, Francisco Martinez, Julien David Petit, Nikita Zimin, Amit Dubester, and Yo Matsushita.
His talent has been recognized by several first prizes in renowned competitions:
➤ National Music University Symphonic Band Competition.
➤ Music Education Newspaper Competition.
➤ Seoul Royal Symphony Orchestra Competition.
➤ North International Music Competition (Sweden).
He was also selected as the 43rd Kumho Young Artist, a prestigious program sponsored by the Kumho Cultural Foundation, marking his debut at the Kumho Art Hall.
Solo Career and Artistic Engagements
Back in Korea, he was recognized as a Busan Musician at the Busan MARU International Music Festival in 2021. In 2022, he began an active solo career with recitals at the Seoul Kumho Art Hall Yonsei and the Busan Geumjeong Cultural Center.
He has since performed with numerous ensembles and orchestras, including:

He is regularly invited to perform in major Korean venues:
Seoul Arts Center, Lotte Concert Hall, Busan Cultural Center, Ulsan Cultural Center, Pohang Cultural Center, Elim Art Center in Incheon, and internationally, notably at the Shandong Concert Hall (China, 2024).
Chamber Music and Transmission
As a soprano saxophonist with the Oneway Saxophone Ensemble, he actively contributes to the development of chamber music for saxophone, with an open and innovative approach.
Deeply committed to the transmission of his art, he gives masterclasses, notably at the Shandong University of the Arts (China) and currently teaches at:
