Born in 1996 in Spain, Celia Torres is a saxophonist and interdisciplinary artist engaged in classical performance, contemporary artistic projects, and socially oriented initiatives.
In 2016, she obtained her Professional Diploma in Saxophone at the CIEM Federico Moreno Torroba (Madrid).
She then began her Bachelor in Saxophone at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León (Salamanca), in the class of Ángel Soria, and completed her final year at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Navarra (Pamplona) under the guidance of Ángel Soria, Nahikari Óloriz, and Michel Reynoso.
Artistic career and collaborations
Celia was a member of the 2.13 SAX Saxophone Ensemble, with which she performed in different cities across Spain and at the 18th World Saxophone Congress (Zagreb, Croatia).
She has also collaborated on several occasions with the COSCYL Symphony Orchestra.
In 2020, she won the 1st Prize at the Ramón Guzmán Competition, organized as part of the Encontro Galego do Saxofón.
Interdisciplinary projects and contemporary creation
Celia Torres is a founding member of Silart, an artistic project that explores the links between disciplines and seeks to redefine the profile of the contemporary artist.
Her latest creation, Eunoia, was selected as a finalist at the Goodmesh Competition (Netherlands), marking an important step in her pursuit of aesthetic exploration and artistic innovation.
Current studies
Since 2020, Celia has been pursuing a Master of Arts in Music Performance at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Zurich), in the class of Lars Mlekusch, where she continues to deepen her instrumental playing and artistic expression.
