Carlos Zaragoza – Saxophonist and Educator
Originally from Spain, Carlos Zaragoza discovered the saxophone at a small music school before continuing his studies at several prestigious institutions:
➤ Conservatory of Zaragoza.
➤ Regional Conservatory of Versailles.
➤ National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris.
Between 2017 and 2021, he obtained:
➤ A Master's degree in saxophone from the CNSMDP (Paris).
➤ A Master's degree in Musicology, Performance, and Heritage from the University of Paris-Saclay and the CRR of Versailles.
Awards and Distinctions
He has distinguished himself in Several international saxophone competitions, winning:
➤ 1st Prize at the Andorra International Competition.
➤ 2nd Prize at the L’Haÿ-les-Roses Competition.
➤ 1st Prize of Honor at the Léopold Bellan Competition (2020).
He has also received support from the Meyer Foundation and has been recognized by:
➤ The National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM).
➤ The Collège d'Espagne in Paris, which enabled him to produce and publish an artistic CD.
Commitment to Musical Creation and Concerts
Passionate about the development of the saxophone and its repertoire, Carlos Zaragoza participates in numerous creations and concerts as a soloist and with the Gaman Ensemble. He has performed:
➤ At the European Young Talent Festival.
➤ With the National Orchestra of Andorra.
➤ With the Castilla-La Mancha Symphony Orchestra.
➤ With the Lutetia Orchestra.
He has also collaborated with Éditions Henry Lemoine, publishing his arrangement for solo saxophone of Marin Marais's Les Folies d'Espagne.
Pedagogy and Teaching
Since 2018, he has taught saxophone at the Jean-Baptiste Lully Conservatory in Puteaux. He is currently pursuing his Master's degree in chamber music with the Gaman Ensemble at the CNSMD in Paris.
