Armin Smriko is a Bosnian clarinetist who earned a Master's degree in Music Performance from the Academy of Music of the University of Sarajevo in 2022, under the direction of Professor Vedran Tuce.
Since 2016, he has been a guest clarinetist with the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, with which he performs a wide range of symphonic, operatic, and choreographic works. He has also been a member of the contemporary music ensemble Sonemus since 2018 and performs regularly at the Sonemus Fest, dedicated to contemporary musical creation.
A performer renowned for his mastery of contemporary techniques on the clarinet and bass clarinet, Armin explores new sounds and continually enriches his artistic language.
He has performed as a soloist and in orchestras throughout Europe, and has collaborated with prestigious conductors and soloists such as Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Isaac Karabtchevsky, Ricardo Casero, Emmanuel Pahud, and Stefan Milenković. His career has been enriched by the teaching of great professors, including Lorenzo Coppola, Ernesto Molinari, Nuno Pinto, Justo Sanz, Tadej Kenig, and Wolfgang Klinser.
Winner of numerous awards in national and international competitions, Armin Smriko now pursues a teaching career as a teaching assistant at the Sarajevo Academy of Music, while remaining active as a solo clarinetist and chamber musician.
