Adam Ambarzumjan is a soloist and chamber musician, a prizewinner of international competitions.
Since 2020, he has been principal clarinetist of the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra Reutlingen.
➤ In 2023, he received a special prize at the German Music Competition as a chamber musician and was awarded a scholarship by the Concert Support Program of the German Music Council.
Trained under Prof. Norbert Kaiser at the HMDK Stuttgart, he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees with top marks.
➤ He completed his training with masterclasses with Hans-Dietrich Klaus, Martin Spangenberg, Johannes Peitz, Thomas Lindhorst, and Thorsten Johanns.
As a solo clarinetist, he plays with orchestras from renowned radio, theater, and symphony orchestras in Germany.
➤ A former member of the Stuttgart Philharmonic, he receives funding from the Deutschlandstipendium and from the Bavarian Music Council, the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation, the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Stuttgart, the PE-Förderkreis Mannheim, the Neue Liszt Foundation, and the Society of Friends of the HMDK Stuttgart.
With his brother, pianist Hamlet Ambarzumjan, he forms the Hamlet & Adam Duo.
➤ Their "Neustart Konzerte" initiative (2021) travels across Germany to revitalize the cultural scene, supported by a grant from the federal government, the GVL, and numerous cultural offices.
